If any one has an upcoming Rapha purchase, I have £130 of gift vouchers that I dont currently have a use for (have too much cycling gear and not cycling as much due to young baby!) I personally don't think I'd get very far asking such a request without at least some minor benefit for the other participant. Perhaps that's where I'm going wrong though and I need to cheer up.

I think you're right. They should have offered the voucher at face-value plus an hours community service, like picking litter or planting a veg garden on a roundabout.

Yes it does. It would literally take more effort and accrue more risk to use this guy’s voucher than to just use your own credit card for a purchase. You’d be mad to accept it at face value. The decent thing to do would be to offer it at a small discount as is normal on here.

We must also agree it's ok for someone to ask if a voucher can be sold on at face-value and it's kind of hypocritical for a poster to say "to offer it at a small discount as is normal on here" having very recently done the exact opposite.
