  • Change battery first and foremost. Just don't bother with the old.
My tiger is very battery hungry on start up.

When my starter went, it would try to start with no kick.
When my Reg/Rec went, it simply did squat.
Last time I left it for a few with a USB charger I forgot about, it killed the battery outright.

They're hungry machines, Just start with a new battery.

  • Looking forward to lighting up half the county with these…

  • dropped it off this morning and gave them the heads-up.

Lady who took my keys smiled knowingly and said she has 2 triumphs and carries a jump pack these days.
I do use my bike for short hops more than cross country jaunts so seems likely the battery is fucked.

  • Reason I asked about accessories: my Dad's 3 year old Triumph had dead battery issues. He has Denali horn and lights installed using their CANsmart doohickey and found that it was drawing power even with the ignition off. They've replaced the unit on warranty but it's still doing it. Denali are investigating.
Cost him a new battery before realising

  • garage just called, charging system is fine, just the battery (most likely)

Also said my front brake pads are nearing EOL, so another £50 to replace them

  • Fingers crossed it’s that simple.

I remember with the 125 (and XJ600) being told to do the occasional long run to make sure the battery gets a good charge. At that time all I was doing was long runs so definitely no issues!

  • Or just charge the battery to 14.4v every so often or 13.8v AGM.

  • Here is a pdf to help fault finding motorbike electronics

  • Yep, so do I!
    That’s triumph ownership

  • Even my (kickstart only) triumph won't start with a flat battery. Nice to see they're consistent.

  • These were an absolute cunt to fit.

  • They improve the looks.

  • Not a 1300 fan? I think I actually prefer it to the 1250 now I've had it for a while.

From first ride it was clearly the better bike but I wasn't sure on the looks.

  • Finally you can dazzle and blind all the cagers who fail to adjust headlight beam and leave on high.

  • More than anything else, I'm looking forward to the amber DRLs increasing visibility of turn signals either when I'm making a turn or when I'm filtering on the commute. The amount of people totally oblivious and on their phone is only increasing. I've seen more than one person watching tiktoks in their instrument cluster.

  • Yep - you have to give them no excuse - recently bought a new Shark lid with LED's built in - looks a bit tacky and I haven't used it yet but it may make that difference.

  • I can’t dis headlights now im on the s1000r, its got such a bland nose. Makes me wonder whats going on with the bmw design team when they get to lighting. Also what’s with the shitty bmw dual purpose rear lights, I’m back doing arm signals so people know I’m turning.

  • But at least they hears me a coming with the asbo pipe. Makes filtering a dream.

  • New bike day here.

What's the deal with rotating the handlebars, I want them to be more forward/upright.
I guess I need to rotate all the controls back after?

  • Controls don't always rotate as they most likely have index holes / dimples they're located in.
Depends on what your setup is like and how much you need to adjust by.
I'd grab a few allen keys and start investigating.

Nice bike too, congratulations and ride safe :)

  • Nice,

Small rotations and you’ll probably be fine not moving the controls, larger rotations might need you to re-drill the peg hole.

Levers just rotate as everyone should be adjusting these to get a good reach angle so just undo the bolts and line them back up after you shift the bars.

  • I love ZR7's great choice - just loosen clamps bolts and move - as long as it's not too far you shouldn't get problems with tight cables - do check. Get the right torque's in when you retighten clamp - tis pretty important - happy motoring !

  • Holy shit that’s proper clean. What’s the mileage on that?

  • 11k. It's nice and smooth, just needs a little tweak to be perfect?
