Sorry @returnofthestaff totally missed this.
They are thin and are really meant for wearing under jackets imo - not like a normal down jacket.
I wear mine under a barbour or if its really cold under my reefer jacket. I have also worn it under a suit jacket before.
There are hidden buttons which allow you to change the collar to a deeper v so it isn't visible under a lapel - this is what I do with my reefer jacket.
