I would also argue that I think he'd be a big risk for United, couldn't do it at the Arse so why would he be able to do it at a much bigger club? He can run the whole show at Villa, not the same deal at OT.

That's the point. The owners have backed him fully. He has complete control. They have even bought into the basque club he part owns with his brother. He won't have that at utd, so why move (for less money). He won't.

I would say that half the issue at united is that ETH did have full backing and full control (with no oversight).

They spent all the money on the dross players he wanted and never seemed to challenge him on the basics of coaching or having players in position or a functioning central midfield.
