True.
I was at a roasters for work on Thursday asking about all these accoutrements. They were saying it’s largely unnecessary. Get the grind right and that’s all you need.
Doesn’t stop me wanting it though.

Moonstruck in Vauxhall is my favourite, they rotate through roasters for their guest espresso and often have geshas. I've had some nice fruity ones from Elsewhere too but be warned that they've sold off their cafes and their only location is the roastery in Deptford!
Broca's house espresso is Dark Arts which is good though I have only had it once. Generally Dark Arts has good reputation really, so I assume their own cafe will be good!
I've also been to Carbon Kopi in Baron's Court a couple of time and the espresso was decent/on the fruitier side.
Mostly South London centric sorry, but I hope this helps! I very strongly recommend Moonstruck out of all of these.

Nice, it'll be good to have these all to hand. I'm not 100% sure where I'll be ending up as am at the whims of my friends, but I'll have these up my sleeve.

If you're near Carbon Kopi, you're not too far from Antipode on the Fulham Palace Rd either.
They were still decent last time I went in. Always used to be Square Mile beans but I don't remember if that's still the case.

You could pull good espresso before someone invented a plastic thing that makes the blah blah blah
Burn the witch!

Thank you. I expect I'll be in more touristy environs. Where's worth a visit close to Paddington?

If anyone has a white Niche Zero for sale hit me up.
Thinking of off-loading a Moccamaster (hot plate, light blue), Fellow electric kettle and Fellow Ode Gen2.
My wife doesn't drink filter coffee so we only use the Moccamaster when we have visitors these days. As I've moved from v60 to Clever Dripper, I don't really need a gooseneck kettle and get great results from the CD. And the Niche would be able to do filter and espresso so I'd get a Bambino Plus to do espressos and milky coffees for my wife.
Sounds like a good way to make the transition without splashing too much ££ while giving me the filter + espresso flexibility.

I have a redundant Bambino Plus here. Selling because I bought another (in white to suit our kitchen). This one is silver and has been mollycoddled!

To the Niche owners, does the Niche really stuck that much when grinding for filter? Coffee forum people would have me believe it's awful and therefore edging me towards the DF64 gen 2 but apparently it's really loud and definitely not as pretty as the Niche

For light/medium-ish roasts yes. For anything else no, but its an outdated espresso burr at the end of the day (Mazzer Kony), so its also not great for light roast espresso

Ok so would you say that in 2024 the DF64 Gen 2 is a better bet? I think I can get over the noise considering it's only 10 secs at a time and my Fellow Ode isn't the quietest thing in the world

Trying to diagnose an issue with work Gaggia Ruby; every now and then the machine will run water through the grouphead without any controls being pressed - I assume this is something related to pressure release, but can't find anything in documentation

So far this is by far the best coffee I’ve had in Lisbon, but tomorrow is another day.

My wife once put a plastic kettle on the hob and melted it

Can you be arsed posting?

Sorry not for a freebie, there’s always a queue at my local post office and I’m not planning on going there for anything else at the mo.
You know all these gadgets and twiddling are pretty recent right? You could pull good espresso before someone invented a plastic thing that makes the coffee flatter before it gets squashed
