It can be, but the just ride mode (slope mode, iirc) is relatively easy to find.
As @chez_jay says, the native apps usually have something - I think my tacx software does, but doesn't run on Linux which is why I never use it.

That's great, ta. As long as it has some sort of metric I can plan around, time and watts is plenty, then I can make it work. Looks complex though!
