Thanks for the report. I take it you came across it some time after it happened, as the ambulance was already there?
Was it the junction with Garratt's Lane?
Did he or she turn left or right out of the junction? When you say 'stub of vertical lane marker', do you mean that one of the wands marking the cycle track had been dislodged, leaving only a stub? Tricky if so, and easily missed. I can't remember seeing that before.
(Oh, and there's a typo in the thread title.)

Hello, to clarify. Ambulance already there. Rider was turning left. Yes wand dislodged, 8-10 inches of base remained protruding from road surface. Very difficult to see. Rider’s partner took a wand from further along the road and put it over the stub. The one he removed had a couple feet of plastic inner remaining so was safe switch.
Cyclist turning left out of Mapleton Road Junction into cycle lane hit stub of vertical lane marker and fell into road. Ambulance attended. Walking wounded hopefully not too much damage but pedestrian witness said it’s about the third instance he’s seen.
