Haven't listened to it in a while but early episodes of The Dollop fits the bill. Good mix of long, funny, historical. Their short episode on the Ford Pinto is a nice taster.

I think the hosts could be a bit marmite, but i enjoy If Books Could Kill - a pretty irreverent takedown of ‘airport books’. You’ll learn stuff but it’s not too heavy.
