The top one looks like a walking stick. The second one might be alright (not to my taste though) if the transition from headset to stem wasn't so crap.

I'm not a fan of modern road bikes but I quite like that the seat stays are parallel with the downtube. What makes this anti for you?

It makes me think of the old Hellenic or equilateral framesets. As modern bikes go, I think it's pretty classy.
