Hmmm... I've ordered them anyway!

Compromises are inevitable if you want to run big tyres and guards in a frame that wasn't made for it.
If it doesn't work out, buy smaller tyres, or flog the guards on here, or my go to option....have a custom frame built! -

Anyone has a template for mudflaps? What material would you guys use?

I run 38c paselas (which measure up around 35 iirc) in my 45s, which is a pretty close but good fit. I’d say if your current tyres don’t fit though, it’s still worth sizing down tyres slightly to run the pdws for a frame with that clearance, they’re great

I’ll send you one tomorrow if you want! I’ve got one template with drill holes for 55mm Velo Orange guards, and one undrilled for 35mm Bluemels. In the latter case I just drilled them myself to fit two 4mm bolts.
@MisterMikkel glad to be that person on this thread! -

Not quite a template but this is how they look when fitted!

Has anyone here ever bothered fitting safety releasing front stay tabs for their metal mudguards?
Fitting Berthouds to parentbike and I had thought maybe trying to bodge with the PDW clips you can buy, or similar. New guards have not arrived so not handled the Berthoud hardware yet so would like to know what Forum wisdom is on this

What, and not show off on here?
I've just messaged you, let me know! -

If they’re offered, definitely do it.
Probably do it anyway. -

I'm looking for a spacer to bridge the gap between the mudguard and front rack of my Brown Bike.
The gap is about 30mm, give or take a mm (which I'll pad with leather washers). Accu and others sell hexagonal spacers, but they're a bit honking. I think a round spacer would look nicer, but they only seem to be available in 10+ packs.
I would prefer a threaded spacer so I can fit an M5 cleat mushroom bolt on either side. Any leads or competing ideas?
Edit: I've found a Chinese vendor on eBay selling them cheaply in two packs. I'll order those and hope I find some in the UK for cheap: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/283987732514

has anyone used the Cube mudguards on a 29 x 2.3 tyre?
I am looking to put full length guards on my Singular to make more useable in the winter. The back does not look to give great coverage esp with a trailer but could a flap fix that?
Any other suggestions welcomed.....

Intrigued if you find this works. I’n watching some Cube guards on LeisureLakes bikes eBay and they look good for the MTB, but the description is very “designed by Cube for Cube bikes using Cube fitments”
Edit: these ones do say they’re limited to 2.25” tires though.

I was going to say, for that length you could’ve tapped threads into a suitable item yourself? Anyway, problem solved.
Always worth it to see more pictures of that fabulous bike. -

Ah, I didn’t even look at the location, assumed that kind of thing would be sold locally.
I’ve sourced stainless spacers from UK based eBay sellers before but never threaded.

Yes. And they fit perfectly.

On my road bike, the vertical clearance at the brake bridge is really tight. (You can see it in the image below.) The thing is, it's not the brake bridge that's the problem - it's the brake itself, which extends downwards from the brake bridge by a few mm.
Is there any way I can dimple the mudguard across the top to give the brake some room? Or is there a different brake I could fit which is less bulky?

Thanks ! And super nice build.
Is that Berthoud in 650b x 60mm, Long? Whats the tyre?
They're also really short if memory serves. Barely enough to cover half the circumference of the front tire, so pointless if you want to keep your feet dry or even your legs mud-free.
