I absolutely agree. Amazing city and country also.

Nothing through the group head, haven’t tried the wand/hot tap. Filled up the drip tray though so maybe a pipe has become disconnected…
I found these guys on the web so will probably send to them as I’m already down enough rabbit holes with stuff without adding espresso machines! -

Looking at my emails I got the "it's on the way" email on April 5th (it was a preorder so the order was actually made in March) and it got delivered on the 16th. Seem to recall I was told 10 days or so was par for the course.
It doesn't look like Evri was involved with mine but I suspect they will only take care of the UK part of the journey, so the fact they're expecting it might just mean it's not in the country yet, think I've had that with some AliX orders.

Are some coffees better for certain methods?
I feel dumb asking this because I’ve considered myself into coffee for a while but never thought about this.
Are certain regions, roasts etc etc better for espresso or brewing or does it just come down to personal taste?
-
• #27906
I don’t think so, a lot of the same coffees get roasted separately for filter and espresso. Or they’re done “omni”.

Depending on what you’re into, certain origins suit espresso better than others. Tart, juicy, washed Central American and African coffees are much more challenging to balance, and an acquired taste even if you do brew them successfully. Lower acidity, smoother coffees are much easier to get along with.
For manual brewing I would say no, anything goes. I can’t really think of any coffee I would avoid in any particular brewer. Maybe except stovetop, follow espresso preferences with that.

Did anyone take you up on this? I wouldn't mind giving it a go repairing it.

Clearly this was a “Oh, great…. Thanks…. I…..love(?) it…” gift to someone at some point.
Totally new unused in a tatty old box.
Couldn’t resist for a tenner.
May replace my standard Bodum 1L, may just use the glasses.

I’ve never found a coffee I’m happy to have every day. Ideally if there was such thing as a coffee tasting, I’d go to that.
Just find out at least what region or roast I’m in favour of.
But a large portion will be my grinding and brewing technique.

Cheers. I got an email earlier saying Evri have now received it, so fingers crossed it'll be here in the next few days.

if there was such thing as a coffee tasting
there are such things. commonly called coffee cupping.

cupping
……….

i'm sure someone will have written a PhD on it, too.

The short answer is a mid-priced washed Colombia. Chocolatey, balanced, forgiving and enough rounded acidity to be clean and not boring.
-
• #27917
I want some caramelly and a bit buttery. Low acidity.
A coffee cupping sounds awesome

Coffees I've enjoyed most have been heavy with Ribena notes. They don't come around very often.

Any coffee recommendations for Copenhagen?
-
• #27920
I liked The Coffee Collective (a few different spots, Torvehallerne food market was good) and Democratic Coffee.
-
• #27921
I only remember Prolog and Democratic being really good.
We stayed a few doors up from a Coffee Collective so went every morning but it was pretty meh, but they roast some brilliant coffees so would recommend taking some beans home. -

Copenhagen coffee lab

To add to those already mentioned: Rist, Minas, prolog, sonny, rapha, kafffedepertment

Thanks all! I'm only there for 3 days so those should tide me over.

Don't forget April.
As a matter of interest, how long did yours take to arrive? Mine was supposedly 'dispatched' on the 9th, but it's still showing as 'We're expecting it' when I check Evri's tracking 'service'.
