Interesting, and definitely not expensive if it rides well and doesn't fall apart. Muli is Steel though.
As to reasonable spec, wouldn't want a cargo without hub dynamo and the complete basic Shimano brakes struggle on my cargo.
Muli list price is under 3000€, you can sometimes find them for 2500.
Then you get 4 pot, dynamo, alfine, and a tried and tested design with support.
