Not sure anyone will bother if you don't have proof of purchasing. Even then I'd charge for all time lost unless you're a good customer, shimano doesn't compensate the shop

I have an affected Ultegra chainset that I bought secondhand a while back... how willing are bike shops to sort this for random people off the street like me? Is there any incentive for them (from Shimano/the distributor) to take on the hassle?
Probably should get it checked but it's not on a bike I ride that often so haven't done it yet. Any recommendations for shops in SE London that are happy to check it?
