Last week's GD a bit of a let down, it had the correct ingredients - oversized ugly house, biggest domestic pergola in the world, couple of influencers...unfortunately they turned out to be surprisingly pleasant and got it all done on time 😕

I'm sure the water-table could still fk it up, will find out at the five year look back

I thought just the same. Place looked good and they seemed, contrary to my expectations, nice people.
Hope they earn enough to not have to sell it soon though

I thought the same
Quite the opposite of the week before where the guy didn’t bother much with planning (or planning permission), bodged his way through it and ended up with something fairly uninspiring

Not really getting on with Sketchup anymore. Do you guys use, or know of, any decent free 3D software to plan your projects?

I can't say I ever rated Diether Krebs myself. #dubtapstylecomment

Not used it, but give Autofusion 360 a try.
A couple of peeps on here do use it. -

I've tried but it seems more product than architecture oriented, although I didn't try for very long!

Fusion is definitely more product/object focussed but I use it for interior work.
I like it because you can produce visuals, do layout work and also make shop drawings all in one package.
It’s definitely not perfect but with a few tricks you can do lots with it.

If it's a matter of designing layouts rather than absolute dimensional accuracy, Blender might be worth a look rather than the serious CAD stuff.

This is what I liked about Sketchup. An easy way to figure out if the idea in your head is going to work.

I got a good shot (I think) of one my favourite bits of architecture in Norwich. The Cathedral cafe/office extension. Love the way it doesn’t quite touch the old walls.

More bulb chat. Looking for 90+ CRI e14 led bulb that's dimmable and won't beam focus too much - they are for 3 pendants over my dining table. The shade will do enough focusing and won't allow any ambient light out the side or top so I guess something diffuse. As bright as possible (given dimmer) so ideally 600lm or more?
Does such a bulb exist?

this is probably what i'll go for

Yes, zico do a porcelain E14, 2700k. Dimming is the best I've tested but they normally list which dimmers they play well with. Varilight is pretty typical for a home.
Don't put a clear filament lamp in a pendant.

Was in Manchester a few weeks ago and popped into roche bobois.
They had this couch which was incredible and so comfy but the price was pretty mad and for the money I can get a bigger Togo which is what I really want!

none of those seem bright enough - all around 300lm
What's the issue with filament in a pendant?

OpenSCAD maybe. Like fusion more object oriented though
