This is definitely going to be good! Nice choice on the colour, too.
Am I missing something though, what does Morrisons have to do with it?

Oh that’s where the Carrier will be put to task most often on grocery duties :)

This is a cool vid which summarises what Pi's approach to bikes is all about:

Hmm I think a bike like that deserves to ride to your local farmers market, speciality grocer and artisan baker all separately.

• #31
sorry if i missed it, did you sell the hogs back?

Love Arko Bici. Love Witslingers. Win/Win.
-
• #33
Yup, to my friend Tom who (@vthejk you know the one) is living his best dadbike life with it.

Yes! The perfect successor to that bike, if there is such a thing.

• #35
love that!

Great and subbed.

Alrighty, here's the components list.
All locked in except for the following: Deore shifter swapped for a Microshift 11sp MTB thumbie and VO Curvys may be swapped for Jones bends.
Shona said the next batch of Jones is c.2 months off so I'll ask Pi to keep the cables long for some wiggle room. VO's might well be absolutely fine and they're very similar to the SW Getarounds I had on the Hog which were great.

And here’s the geometry, very much “bike”:
- Longer ETT than the Bassi, shorter stem (standard Carrier approach)
- Drawing is based on 2.25” tyres with guards. Room for 2.6” tyres without guards for chunky stuff
- Original drawing had 46cm chainstays, my good experience with the Riv meant I asked them to be pushed out to 47.5cms

A brief Big Dummy interlude: my go-to transport for the school run when working from home, I've resisted spending money on it when it's quietly going about doing what's asked of it so well. But recently I've been toying with the idea of non-critical "upgrades" by replacing the 44t outer ring with a Stronglight chainguard, switching the hefty STI shifters for some Sunrace friction thumbies, replacing the Stooge Motos for a Jones bend bar and the bulky kickstand lever with a neater friction shifter lever. Plus new cables. It doesn't need any of that of course.
The process of typing this out has pretty much affirmed that I ought to keep it as is through the winter and if I'm still keen on the new parts come spring, I'll do it then. I have however treated the bike to an entirely unnecessary anodised purple seatclamp from eBay, a nod to coolest hero turtle: Donatello!

So, three years on and with two young kids, *long rides aren't on the agenda as much.
What you trying to say about me lol?
The Clandestine is my fave bike in your lineup. This will be exciting.

Ha, you clearly have more baraka in your time! It's my favourite too. I've been without an off road bike since I sold the Hog a couple of months ago so itching to get on the rough stuff soon. Road rides ain't so bad though, especially in Autumn!

Hullo there…. I am the lucky man who inherited the Hog… here to join in the fun seeing @Browndonneur’s Carrier come to life!

Good timing dude. Carrier is now brazed and ready for paint:

The rear rack is meant for a Wizard Works Shazam, here's what it looks like loaded:

At first glance, my tired dadbrain thought that a vegetable mister was some sort of Linda McCartney arch nemesis. They got rid of the misters a decade ago I'm sure!
I plan to replace the Big Dummy's stock SRAM triple with a 1x9 Cues at some point (11-46t). I have NEVER used the outer ring on that bike. Cues makes a ton of sense for the Carrier too but, alas, I've already specced a Deore M5100 derailer and Microshift thumbie for it.
@Tijmen dig that combo, and RAL5014 is a great match for Bluebell. Your panniers will be the finishing touch. Slate grey ought to be a nice light "filler" and tie the other light hues (grips, saddle, silver bits) together.
