  • Did I say I was buying race tyres? I already have GP5000s on these wheels. Look at the thickness and puncture ratings and then think about why the Pirelli might be slower.

Shit, I know, why don't I just fit track tubs and hire a follow car full of spares to follow me everywhere? Genius!

So, anyone using Pirelli Cinturato Velo TLR Tubeless 700C with tubes or have an opinion on how easy they are to fit, in general? I thought I'd ask before I pull the trigger on a set of 35s for my Roval Rapide road wheels for the Crux.

  • I had the Cinturatos found them really sluggish and unpleasant to ride. I'm currently using some 35mm Specialized S-Works Mondo Tyres. They're much nicer to ride and seem pretty hardy and long lasting. Not horrendous pricing either.

FWIW they were super easy to fit and set up tubeless.

  • Hmm, also a good looking wider option but they're even more spendy than the Pirelli.

    Ever run them with tubes?

  • How would you compare to GP5000 All Seasons? Everything is pointing to putting these on (also in 35c) this winter but I'm intrigued by the Mondos.

And yeah agreed, ran Cinturato's last winter and whilst grip was ok, they felt dead to ride.
