Yeah, I'm Sheffield ways. I should probably just ride the bike that I already have. It's a great match for a lot of the riding around these ways, but sometimes it feels like overkill and I'm not sure how much I would want to ride more than 30 or so miles on it.
You're probably right tho, it would likely end up in the pile of bikes that need an annoying or expensive bit of maintainence done and go to languish because there are other more functioning bikes that can do the job too.
You're up in the peaks right? I reckon if you bought a hardtail you'd kinda like it, but in a years time it would never leave the shed.
I was fully signed up to hardtail life...bought a modern trail bike and wouldn't be going back in a hurry.
