• There's a charcoal filter at the extraction point and then it blows down the back of the cabinet and exits below the two cabinets to the right, so it isn't blowing on your feet when you stand in front of it.
Our kitchen is combined with the living room and a total of 65sqm, so moisture is not an issue, but it could be in a smaller space.

  • Okay that's super interesting to know thank you! Might save us from having a huge extractor when we come to do the kitchen

  • I got a new-old-stock Miele DA 2578 off EBay for £150, it’s quiet-mark certified, really inoffensive.

We’re running it in recirculating mode with third party (much cheaper) active carbon filters from German eBay, and I fitted a 300mm tall silencer/attenuator that I bought from a hydroponic jazz cabbage shop. Very effective and quiet.

  • You're welcome. That was our main priority as well.
Might be worth looking into test of different models when you have to decide. An independent testing organisation here in Denmark tested various built-in extractor hubs, and some of them had abyssmal performance. Not surprisingly Siemens, Bosch and Bora were top performers.
