• Ours is Smeg, cause it came in grey to match the stainless, and has slidey controls that were a must for me. Works fine, but no better than the IKEA one we had in our previous place, controls are actually more annoying.

    For anyone choosing induction hobs, I really think it’s all about usability & responsiveness of the controls. They all just heat shit up. If possible I’d try and fiddle with one before buying.

    Yeah, I fucking hate touch screen buttons with no responsiveness, size and usability were the main things for us. The magnetic dial on the neff is a real joy to use, all the benefits of physical buttons with the ease of cleaning a touch screen model.

  • That does seem like a great idea. Presume you have to select the burner before adjustment though. Direct control for each zone was another must for me, but it might not actually be a big deal in reality.
