MOT day today.
Passed "by the skin on your teeth" Front tyre is borderline, rear isnt far off.
Told them to order me some new boots, £330.
Still got to pay for the fitting. -

I think I finally have a plan for the little CB100 I was given a couple of months ago. I'll give it to my dad, and he'll do a light resto and display it in his garden shed. This does mean that I'll have to ride it 500 miles up to Scotland, which could be fun.
On another note, I'm in love with how the 550 looks, still.

Stick some knobblies on it and do it all by green lanes. Maybe something like the Pirelli MT43 ‘trials’ tyre?

What tyres did you go for?

And the result of MOT bingo is - another year and another MOT with no advisories. Not to everyone’s taste but becoming one of my favourite bikes owned.

Michelin Anakee Road
Replacing Road Pilot 3(?)
I'd have gotten RP 5/6 but the supplier had a 6 week lead time, Anakees in stock, and recommended as a viable alternative. -

Road Pilots are very good - will be interesting to hear your opinion on the Michelins.

I bought this at 1900hrs this evening. An October 1982 BMW R100RS with all the spares it needs. It hasn't been on the road for 20 years. So a winter project which needs stripping down and fully sorting. I'll collect it this week and more pics etc.

I’ve been surprised how much I’ve liked the Anakees that came with the GS.
The set I got 4 years ago on the last one were panicky in the wet and felt sketchy on the sidewall. These ones - so far - are much more composed and you can abuse them leaning over.
I was ready to ditch them for Pilot Road 6 but I’m keeping them for now.

How many is that now?
At what point do we have to have an intervention?

Just being nosey as tyres can be a really personal choice.
Tho I thought at that price fitting would be included. But then I'm far out of the loop

One 2003 R1150GSA, a 1980 R100RS and soon to be a 1982 R100RS. I have no room left.

Just going to leave this here while I report myself to the bastard neighbours thread for the exhaust noise.

As owner of a new GS, I shall assume my position as king of the middle age.
Hold on whilst I put all my aluminum luggage on but don’t put anything in it.

Congratulations on breaking the national speed limit while the engine is at idle.
Congrats.
