Shitola. That will translate well to Aliexpress.

That looks lovely. I’m interested but would probably prefer a window for display purposes. Although, I’m open minded about it.
Would you be able to make one that can take say 12 watches? Maybe with a drawer underneath for straps, and bits and bobs?

Aliexpress
That reminds me, I should wear my fauxmega/swatch X AliEx collab.
It has sat by the speedo in the van hiding a warning light for the better part of a year.

Panerais must be so easy to fake. Has anyone compared a fake one with a real one? (I mean a good fake, $400 or so.)

Saw this on sale online and felt like it needed a post...

Thank you. Yes I could look at designing one with Perspex part lid and 12 watches - would be quite big? Would the watches just be in smaller compartments or fixed onto a watch cushions?
A drawer is possible tooDrop me a pm and I’ll sketch out some ideas. I’m a architectural technician so will probably model it in 3d so it can be viewed in 3d prior to making it

There's a massive rep scene (not just Panerai - their style is easy to fake, but the rep makers are so skilled now that they can handle anything). The differences between the real deal and the reps is small and getting smaller - they even copy movement details (easier for ETA variants like early Panerai / IWC etc) so you've properly got to get the loupe out to tell them apart. There's a rep forum that does these comparisons with the view that the producer uses the info to produce a better fake. Watchfinder did this macro video on a fake submariner 7 years ago, and they've long got better since.... Makes buying secondhand a real worry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P_ZTqC2Yxxs

I'm a massive sucker for Panerai style (limited as it is) although as you say, current pricing makes it easy to get over. Got to be a good thing that they're making the watches smaller - one of my friends picked up a blue dial Quaranta and it's a looker in the flesh.

I've got 4 fake Rolexes and used to go to the rwg forum a lot. It seems impossible to log in now. Not sure what's going on. The supply of good fakes from the better so-called factories dried up for a while after a wave of arrests and jail sentences. Maybe it's recovered? Without access to rwg I have no idea.

The AAAAAAAAAAAAAA…AAAAAAA++++++++++++ reps on AliEx seem to appear and disappear quickly. Unlikely they are at the standard of the ones you lot are talking about, but even the sub-£500 fakes are a cut above the old junk sold at the beach on holiday.

The factories put a lot of work into the appearance of their steel Submariner, as that's by far their biggest seller. Other models are often a lot more shonky.
Selling branded fakes on Alix must be rather terrifying. The police state hands out long sentences nowadays.

Imagine the mugger’s chagrin when the fence says ‘fake’.

I think the guy that started Ginault used to make Rolex sub super clones. I don't love homages but I'd rather have one than a fake. The Ginaults are meant to be very well made and often come up cheap enough on eBay although I still don't want one

📉
That was my instinct but just went and checked some of the C24 charts and maybe it’s beginning to flatten for certain brands/models. I still think there’s a glut of product which people want to shift.
"carbotech"their proprietary carbon composite.
80% lighter than steel according to their press release.
It's a baby Panerai too at "only" 40mm
