  • When I lived in (not quite) London, I heard a huge bang outside and there was a car upside down on the footpath outside my flat. The guy was bleeding so I gave him a towel and started to call the emergency services and he begged me to put the phone away and tried to walk away when he saw the police coming. You could smell the booze from a mile away. If he'd had a car that was drivable he'd have been gone.

  • Had a similar thing happen with a guy on a motorbike last summer. Was just cruising to the start of a TT and he overtook a van coming the other direction. 2 seconds later I heard a massive crash and knew straight away what it was. He must have been doing 70mph when he hit the car in front, he was a good 30ft from his bike. Assumed he was dead to be honest, but he started moving when I got to him.

Stank of booze and refused help even though he was pouring blood and one of his legs was clearly fucked. I was trying to get him to lay down at the side of the road but he got very aggressive and 'fled' on foot, dragging a leg in slow motion. Helmet was all smashed up

I was too shocked to stop him. It was mental!
