If you can id these fallen apples then this tree grows well in out neighbour's East facing garden. Heavy clay. Often waterlogged in winter. Generally neglected.
Apples are excellent. Nice raw, but enough structure and slight tartness/acidity to cook well.
It's a bit sad but we have hardly scrumped any this year, whereas when the kids (eldest especially) was smaller we'd go out every morning for windfalls.
