  • One of the more surreal things about the Paul Greengrass film on Bloody Sunday was the former army officer who played Jackson's then CO, Lt. Col Derek Wilford. Simon Mann did a decent job of it, and I remember reading an interview with him at the time, where he said something like "I may be ex-army but that was an arrogant, incompetent fuck-up and we should cough to it." Two years later: "Hang on, I recognise that face. You what? Mark Thatcher too?"
