I didn't get it as also forgot to go back to it but the clue had 'robbery involving mafia boss'. Mafia boss is 'don', which is involved within heist to make a synonym for 'fun sort' - hedonist.

3 over today. Couldn't see it at all ðŸ˜
-
• #629
Ah yeah, thanks - knew it was ‘don’ in the middle of something robbery-related, but didn’t get ‘heist’ at first glance.
-
• #630
No need for an anagram, simply insert don into heist.
-
• #631
I'm not that smart
-
• #632
Today’s took me three separate sessions before I finally kicked myself.
-

I thought heist but was trying to insert Capo, so discounted heist, then I tried to add m to an anagram of robbery, (as did the guy explaining it all). I lost my patience and blew 8 points. Today was more my level!

I'm still pondering this morning's one....

Yeah it took me a while to get to grips with.
A type of clue we haven't had for a while. But one I know you are familiar with.

+3. Gave up, still don't know the wordplay
-

Spoiler
It's a homophone clue with "in conversation" as the indicator. Lynx, the cat, sounds like links, the synonym for joins. -

Same. I struggled to work it out even after seeing the answer, until I realised what the indicator was.

Cat (on here) joins in conversation
