Yeah hit me hard. Going out in Glasgow in the late 00s, warehouse nights, soundhaus, into the 2010s, Numbers parties at off Sonar, his "30th birthday party" at SWG3 which was absolute bedlam, then circoloco coming after that, including on my honeymoon. So many memories.

I remember him boasting during the independence campaign that Scotland had a higher percentage of working age population that anywhere else in the UK.
Or in other words worse life expectancy, which he's just lowered very slightly.

One of the more surreal things about the Paul Greengrass film on Bloody Sunday was the former army officer who played Jackson's then CO, Lt. Col Derek Wilford. Simon Mann did a decent job of it, and I remember reading an interview with him at the time, where he said something like "I may be ex-army but that was an arrogant, incompetent fuck-up and we should cough to it." Two years later: "Hang on, I recognise that face. You what? Mark Thatcher too?"

That’s terrible. I wonder what the story behind it is.

Sarcastic tone
Didn't he claim to stop world war 3 starting by refusing an order while in Kosovo?
EDIT: is what happened that day (in Ireland) classed as a conspiracy theory?

Him and James Blunt
My parents were country singers, and we had Kristofferson's early albums on constantly in my childhood (as well as Johnny, Willie, Dolly, Emmylou - what I regarded as embarrassing back then turns out to have been pretty solid). What a talent, what a life.
