  • Here? Yes. On this side of the road it is mandatory and signposted.

  • Another triumph of London infrastructure.

  • Yeah it was really well put together. Aircooled guys know how to fill the arches with taller rubber to achieve the low but not silly slammed stance. The CSP exhaust is a masterpiece as you retain stock ground clearance unlike all the other performance systems that hang way too low.

Shame the scene has gotten way out of reach for regular folks, wheels alone are £8k plus.

  • Keep the wheels silver!!!

  • Never! Besides, black will be easier to touch up when I kerb them again.

  • Are the wheels 8k now? I not saying I don't believe you, I'm saying what the fuck.

Are the copies that are available just as good, if not better that who knows how old and how they have been treated.

  • Get those plastic rim protectors.

  • Yeah i had a quick look and i think you could pay that for original chromed/painted Porsche originals in the much sort after 6" and 4.5" Cal look combo. Those look like original Porsche that have been chromed and painted.

Reps go from a couple hundred to a couple thousand pending quality. Add paint detailing, OG caps, chrome lugs and Firestones and even those will cost you more than my Bug was worth.

  • Where can you get these? Also, DIY fit or tyre shop fit?

  • Do not get plastic rim protectors.

  • Why are they a bad idea?

  • Seen them offered on line and at tyre places. Think the protection can be fitted without removing the tyres on the rims.

  • I have to go to a tyre shop tomorrow. I will enquire. Thanks.

  • I looked at them, but for £80 a set (if you want to DIY), they don't look to be re-useable should your tyre need repaired in future. There's also a non-zero chance of compromising the seal of the bead.

  • ...and they look gash, cling-filmed-sofa energy.

  • I reckon I'll be ok (jinx), I've only scuffed them once since April when I was really not paying attention. The previous owner must have lived on a set of stairs or something. Full on chunks of the passenger side sidewall missing.

  • Though they were around a tenner a wheel plus fitting for the stick on trim ones.

  • £55 for rim blades, £80+ for Alloy Gator.

  • This weekends spot in Rutland

  • Because they look dreadful, fall out, may compromise the seal of the tyre on the rim and shout to the world “I have such low situational awareness that I’m a danger to others”.

  • Fair enough. They are for my daughter's rims as she seems to use kerbs to slow down. I suspect she won't want them if you say they 'look dreadful' 😀

  • What are the names of the other rental companies that GreenMotion use to trick you so you don't realise you're using GreenMotion?

    Cheers

  • How about go full Rallye style and throw some speedline/OZ/sparco rims on there?
