Only £40 from near Stockport, spare engine that will apparently drop right into an MTB, might need more than a touch of hot glue.

Was gonna say, you might want some fibres in your hotsnot to make that shitbox halfway sound...
But no! Apparently powder is better? So 'forged carbon' (using the offcuts swept up off the floor) isn't a total crock of shit?
More testing!

I've got a load of those reinforcing fibres for concrete or plaster or whatever. You've made me think that gently laying those across something before adding superglue could be a good way to add reinforcement.

Cutting out the toptube and not even making the tank or engine a stressed member is a brave move.

You're a stressed member!

I'll give you a stressed member etc

Missus got this stopper twenty years ago, nearly ten years ago it broke.
Some high-accuracy coathanger tweaking later, voila. Been going strong ever since

Not on a bike but bike related. Zip pull broke at work and needed a quick fix. Gear cable with a brake cable crimp so both ends fit. I only intended it to be temporary but it’s lasted a year. I’ve now done it on another pair of shorts that the pocket zip broke on.

Wish my crimps looked that neat

Awesome idea. I have a bag with a snapped puller that will get this treatment.

Haha, nearly all of the pullers on my 15yo topeak bag are dead. Split loops work well.

Possibly not in the true spirit of the thread but I bought a couple of bags of these from alix years ago - black + mixed colours.
Has covered me and the family since. -

That wiring is definitely a bodge
I love the ugly bits hanging off the hubs to keep them pretty
