I need to build one, currently commuting on a carbon track with zero mudguard mount let alone space for it is taking it's toll.

Probably not, but the 496 is hardly short of strength in that area and I expect the 496Tri fork is just a 496Piste fork with a factory drilled hole 🙂

I miss impractical bikes sometimes, every bike I own has mudguard mounts and there’s something arrestingly clean about a race bike.
Case in point (still not a race bike tho)

That crossed my mind, but I would hope the tri version has more than a simple hole in the fork!

I doubt that they'd mould it with the hole, so most likely it really is just a form drill into the back of the crown. Isn't the 496 fork pretty much solid carbon?

Initial thought was half link chain but it looks like a standard one. @lesterama is probably right!

Speaking of toight (fit)….
Finally added leaf traps/mud flaps on the Raleigh today. The engraved Raleigh badge channels dirty water away, probably.
I can now justify riding this bike even more gingerly but in all weather conditions.

I’d never heard of this before, I thought it must be some kind of product to begin with! After a quick Google seems like it’s finding some combo of sprocket and chainring to get the right gear/chain tension?
