  • Who gives a fuck as long as Chestnut and Acorn agree about the deal.

  • Surprised Pidders wasn't included in the Ineos squad tbh

  • Even Thomas doesn't know.

He sounds like a bit of a doubting Thomas.

  • If Geraint doesn't know he could ask Luke Rowe who has the same agent as Pidcock, Andrew McQuaid. I'm assuming thats who Geraint is referring to .

  • You can tell Andrew McQuaid is a details guy as he still has a picture of Rohan Dennis on his website as an example of Career Success

  • Lavreysen and Andrews, sure. Pidders and Daudet, why not. Did Remco have some sort of punch up at the 2022 awards to be swapped out for an XC Bronze medalist?

  • stanley tucci's looking rough

  • The hit-and-run driver who killed Davide Rebellin has been jailed for four years:

In 2001, the lorry driver was convicted of fleeing the scene of a non-fatal crash in Foggia, Puglia, without stopping to give assistance to those involved in it, while in 2014 he was handed a driving ban after officers found him drunk at the wheel of his vehicle in Chieti, Abruzzo.

According to roadside video and witness photos, after the fatal collision involving Rebellin, Rieke got out of his cab briefly to assess the cyclist's condition, before fleeing the scene and driving to Germany, where his brother's haulage firm is based.

  • Jesus. Why aren’t licenses simply revoked?

  • Even when they are people just drive unlicensed.

Crush all their vehicles with the drivers in them. No repeat offenders.

  • Won't someone think of the fenders?

As always, the problems are the economic conditions for hauliers and the lack of precautionary enforcement. I think pre-EU there often used to be driving licence controls at European borders, but I can't find anything at the moment corroborating that, so it may be bollocks. Certainly recently, e.g. during the European Football Championships, there were additional controls, which may have included checking driving licences.

If you drive an LGV all the way across Europe, e.g. from Germany to Italy, especially as a lone driver, it's very likely that you'll be tired because of the distance.

  • Isn't the point of the tachos to stop them driving too much? They have to sleep every x hours. This guy was drunk in one previous occasion though, no? So, that's no tiredness, that's choosing to drive a vehicle while drug impaired and he should've been shot on sight for that offence.

  • I don't know how any of that is regulated. And yes, that guy may be like Dennis Putz, a repeat offender (drink/drugs) who ends up killing. Drink drivers are known to often try to drive away from the scene if they're drunk to escape that charge.

  • When I lived in (not quite) London, I heard a huge bang outside and there was a car upside down on the footpath outside my flat. The guy was bleeding so I gave him a towel and started to call the emergency services and he begged me to put the phone away and tried to walk away when he saw the police coming. You could smell the booze from a mile away. If he'd had a car that was drivable he'd have been gone.

  • Had a similar thing happen with a guy on a motorbike last summer. Was just cruising to the start of a TT and he overtook a van coming the other direction. 2 seconds later I heard a massive crash and knew straight away what it was. He must have been doing 70mph when he hit the car in front, he was a good 30ft from his bike. Assumed he was dead to be honest, but he started moving when I got to him.

Stank of booze and refused help even though he was pouring blood and one of his legs was clearly fucked. I was trying to get him to lay down at the side of the road but he got very aggressive and 'fled' on foot, dragging a leg in slow motion. Helmet was all smashed up

I was too shocked to stop him. It was mental!

  • Zip tie him to his bike and if it catches fire tuff.

  • I saw there was some chat re the gravel worlds a few days ago. I watched the highlights and was a bit meh about it but then I this saw yesterday and it gives a much better impression of the melee inside the peloton.

  • Jesus those concrete posts seem like an accident waiting to happen! Was it circuits or one big loop?

  • No idea, I didn’t watch the whole event just the vid above and the official highlights one below.
