MCB's and RCCB's have a little bit of history of fakes being released on the market. You might of got a dodgy one.
Good that the installer fixed it for free.
Still. 11 years?

I've made a mistake and accidentally ordered and installed 12v DC LED bulbs in my kitchen extractor hood. They ought to have been 220v AC.
The cooker hood is a Teka GFH55.
I'm quite sure I've tracked the issue to this doodad (shown below) being frazzled.
There are no other markings on it so can someone enlighten me as to what it is so I can order a replacement and get it sorted?

Oh you're a gent! Appreciate the offer but I'll grab one locally, I'm in Ireland so postage would be a bit more.
The switch seems to be working fine so I'll try replacing this and see how it goes.
I did feel stupid though, just carelessness when ordering the bulb...
Woke up this morning to a powerless kitchen.
everywhere else in the house is ok, but the sockets, hob and extractor are all non-working.
The trip will not flip back to on, even though all plugs are off (including hob/extractor isolator)
There wasn't much plugged in, but the coffee machine no longer works. It turns on, clock works, lights up when you press the GO button, but it doesn't do anything, so it hints that something is broken in that, unsure if that could cause an issue, or be the result of one.
Any ideas?
(will see if a sparky can come round for a proper check)
((epic dredge))
Edit: Electrician came, faulty trip switch (possibly caused by coffee machine dying), replaced the switch, all good. Didn't want paying either as it was a faulty part from a job ~2 years ago.
