47ohm resistor. 230vac & 12vdc doesn't mix, might have other damage. if u want one pm me and I'll post

Oh you're a gent! Appreciate the offer but I'll grab one locally, I'm in Ireland so postage would be a bit more.

The switch seems to be working fine so I'll try replacing this and see how it goes.

I did feel stupid though, just carelessness when ordering the bulb...
