That's the proper tool, but it can be done with needle-nose pliers or sometimes by hand.

Yes it is. One end is to lever the connector out without straining the cable and the other is to push the connector home without bending the cable.

If you really want one, most bike shops will have so many because the kits always come with one, so you could try ask your LBS nicely if they have a spare you could have.

I've got one of both the old kind and the newer skinnier cables kind, was using it just today in fact - in N8 if you want to borrow it
I’m wanting to swap out the handlebars on my new (to me) bike to a carbon integrated cockpit, the bike is fitted with 11 speed ultegra Di2 with the junction box under the stem. Is the correct tool I need the TL- EW02. Thanks
