I gave up on the Spesh saddle and went back to an ISM. This one's also new to me, their MTB one. It's a bit shorter than the Breakaway I normally use and has a curved bum. So, the fit is different again but I think it's "ok" for the 30mins I've tested it.
A little shakedown ride of 600k (road) on the weekend should reveal any issues.

You ride Treks, which presumably means you're already wearing coke bottle glasses.

This. Function>form.
This will (one day, I promise) be ridden more in a day than most of this thread ride in a week.
Just be thankful it's not the green Breakaway that came off the Mason.

I don't understand that a fork flap can help reduce the aero penalty of a disc caliper, but why do they leave that ugly axle head flapping out in the breeze? It would make their life easier if they made the forkflap continue to the bottom of the fork and then did a counterbore to hide the axle head.

They couldn't think of a better name than Fork Flap?
and you reckon ISM are ugly. At least saddles are hidden by arses for the most part.
-
• #32313
It's a shit design. They could have a replaceable thru axle insert like Mason use, that sits flush.
-
• #32314
You would of thought that the time and effort put into the Fork Flap that someone would have suggested what about cover the whole thru axle..

Maybe didn't translate well...
Ascetics of these type of saddles will never be pleasing to the eye, but as you say it's not always seen when in use.
