I keep hearing about the bottom falling out the vintage market, but 10 speed triple Campag stuff in Chorus and above is still bloody spendy in my experience, cost me a fortune sorting mine, tho admittedly the crank and shifters were NOS. The Chorus and up long cage rear derailleur was the extra hard to find part, I couldn't even find one in UK and had to get a Record one shipped from Germany at considerable expense.
Good luck on the search tho and hope you can find what you need.
I'm pretty sure you don't need a extra width bb so just the same 102mm width one that fits those 9/10 speed square taper double cranks.

Yeah, it's still way more expensive than, say, Shimano stuff of the same era, which you can pick up for virtually nothing.
I managed to fluke a Chorus rear mech (medium cage), which gives me a fairly decent range at the rear, and already have the Chorus triple cranks. Could probably source a front mech for not too much, but the shifters are proving slightly costlier than I'd ideally like.

Ah OK you're nearly there then. Shifters always were the most spendy bit, tho if u can find good set they'll last.
Yes front derailleurs are much more reasonable price wise, Campag do the 10 speed era triple ones and the Racing T one from 8/9 speed era, but sure that will work fine on 10 speed too.

Shifters sorted.
Triple FD and Italian thread BB still needed.

I’ve got this that I’ve been hoarding for the Colnago I’m never going to build. Give me a shout if you think it’s the right one…

That would definitely fit, though I was looking at the next rung down in terms of the Campagnolo range. Would be interested though, price depending. Will PM.

BB sorted. Just a Chorus triple FD required now.

FYI Chorus/Record triples are supposed to use 111mm BB, but you might get away with 102 depending on the frame however be very careful of clearance at chain stay.

Ah. Good to know. Thanks for the info. I'll give the one I've bought a whirl and, if it doesn't work, I can always sell it on.

If clearances too tight I might have a suitable 111mm, give me a shout.

Brilliant. Will do. It's not likely to arrive until the end of next week, so could be a while before I find out. But if it doesn't work, I'll be in touch. Thanks.

Are you still looking for a FD? If so, are your Ergos QS or standard (no mention of QS!)?
-
• #17
Yes. And the shifters are the 9-speed Carbon BB-System ones.

Racing T being the Record equivalent triple groupset

I like the Racing T stuff, but the black/silver Chorus fits better with the rest of the group and the wheels. Will PM.

Think the bb for triples was meant to be 111m asymmetrical for a standard size seat tube. The asymmetrical was only small at around 1mm so could be fine with a symmetrical 111m. If your seat tube is oversize then you can get larger asymmetrical bb at 115.5?

All sorted now.
As per the title, I'm after some reasonably priced Chorus 9/10 speed stuff, including shifters, triple front derailleur and an Italian threaded bottom bracket with enough width to accept a triple chainset (if, indeed, that's a thing). Doesn't have to look pristine, but nothing too tatty either.
What have you? Cheers.
