Creaking when? It's almost always a pivot that's the cause, so check all your shock and pivot bolts are done up properly, greased if they need greasing or loctited if they need that.

I thought creaking on a modern MTB was a feature.

A bit creaky on the first few pedals strokes, then seems to go away

Oh, so it's knees then

Just picked the bike up from SBC where they were setting up tubeless and they seem to have sorted the creaking as well, so stand down lads

Thru axle was loose.

That is the most likely explanation

I think I may have bought some SQLabs Innerbarends
https://www.tweekscycles.com/sqlab-411-2-0-innerbarends-ionsqlab-2523/Don't seem to have any email confirmation from Tweeks yet though. Anyone else used these? Did I buy the wrong thing? Should I just stick aerobars on the Surly and be done with it?

I have been using these for a few years now on all my flatbars. I am a fan! -

Only just seen this - but Aliexpress is well covered on short cranks. Got my daughter the "goldix" ones. Didnt pay more than 30 quid including chainring - and they're going strong a year on.

Thanks. I don't really see them for sale most places I use so I'll give the SQLabs a go first (assuming Tweeks actually got my order).

The line Brendan Fairclough is building for Rampage is scary. Zero margin.

There's already been one airlift evac, I honestly don't think there won't be another

At first, I thought he was planning a wallride on the side of it, which would have been super gnarly. When I realised he was booting onto it, my stomach sank with worry

Where are you watching?

Thanks, I have ordered a couple of sets, as I can’t change the chainring on one of the kids bikes and buying a full set in the right length is cheaper than just a chainring and wrong length cranks for the other one. Now hope they arrive before the birthday BPW trip!

Brendan's YT channel shows the features he is building. Pinkbike published an article about the airlift.

They aren't allowed to use power tools, and can use sandbags to stabilise a slope, but no other structures. It's all on private land I think, but they only have a couple of areas that they switch between each year so they are really altering a very small area of the mountain.

I'm in awe of what they do, but I also just don't think the risks are worth it.

My cranks are SRAM 3 bolt mount for the chainring/spider- but 180 degrees opposed to the normal orientation. I’m interested in trying an O-Chain, but the cutout on these are designed for the normal SRAM layout.
Anyone got any experience here and could say “will/won’t work”?

180° should be ok shouldn't it? Wasn't the reason Shimano binned off Biopace that they were oriented at 90° to what everyone else later settled on?
lol
