• I've just got my new BT router from them for renewing my contract. It's (presumably) better than my old one, which was probably 8-10 years old, but it doesn't have a guest wifi network on it anymore. I used to put the TVs, Roku etc on the guest to try to stop them sniffing around too much.

Anyone know if there's a bit of kit I can plug in to provide a guest network without too much faff, or am I stuck with it unless I replace the router (and then the disks I guess)?

It depends a bit what you want the guest WiFi network to do. If you want it isolated from your local network so guest can't get to your other devices then you can't do that without lots of faff. I'd put the BT router in a box and get something sensible.

I guess that's what I'm after - thanks, I'll think about whether I can be bothered to go down this route!
