They're going to get a liberal coating of oil, grease and general shite; Screwfix!

Yarmo is worth a look. The sailcloth is lovely and breathable, while also hard-wearing. Made in the UK and all of their products are surprisingly cheap.

My wife gave me Filson wool bibs but they are not the cheap option! Though they are fucking awesome.

I've never had to learn to link to comments so I can't but go to #516 (ish) on page 21.

Thanks for all the dungaree suggestions - for now I've gone cheap with these B&Q own brand ones for about 15 quid with a discount. The black ones are aimed at women but the UK 8 fits me pretty perfectly so who knows what's going on with their sizing: https://www.diy.com/departments/site-black-bib-brace-small-medium/5059340656649_BQ.prd

Any good recommendations for harder wearing flexible work shorts? I know flexible is never going to be the most durable but I can't deal with non-flex ones when bending down and moving around a lot. The dickies ones only just made it past 3 months before holes in the crotch.

I've done quite a few gardening chores wearing my Endura Humvee shorts and found them very comfortable
They have a ( cordura? ) panel on the crotch for strength, yet I've been quite happy moving about in them for a few hours

Right. Fixing to treat myself to some nice boots for winter. Warm (insulated), waterproof, and as light as possible (non metallic toe etc
Down to these:

Definitely the goth rave ones.

Yeah opted for goth rave in the end. Let’s see if they live up to their reputation!

Not sure if I have the budget for dandy, or to ask on the proper shoes thread, but I'm going into winter with nothing but a worn out pair of Loake sneakers to wear. What can I buy for under a ton that's properly waterproof, relatively warm, quick to get on and won't make me look like a loon doing the school run or trudging to Sainos?
*Obviously these aren't for manual labour, I'm a soft office worker/soon to be WFHer but considering I'm browsing Screwfix for shoes it seemed like the right place to ask.

I've got on well with Grisport stuff. It's not really nice looking but it's warm, waterproof if you keep it oiled now and then... guess the shoes are quick to pull on compared to boots.

Thanks, not come across the brand before, they look decent, similar to my old Scarpa's which mostly fitted the bill but are now sadly fit for the bin.

I got a pair last winter. They are very nice 👌

Ah quality - what kind of work do you do?

What are the latest trends in ladies dandy rigouts? My wife is looking for allotment garms

My partner wears bikinis in summer and pink overalls the rest of the year at the allotment. Her current overalls were just standard workshop ones from Amazon. Have done her 3 years, no rips or tears and wash just great.
The posher women on our site all wear Lucy+Yak which definitely don’t last as well while grubbing up brambles.Dickies had some collabs this year so have seen some nicer looking overalls and dungarees knocking around but they look more like high street quality, not work wear quality.
I’m a big believer in just wearing the cheapest thing that does the job- it all ends up fucked in roughly the same time period whether it cost you £30 or £300.Sorry if that’s not a very #buyer answer…

Swedish brand Operose does some great stuff
-
• #572
Oh yeah that stuff looks excellent! Chances of my partner seeing the value of that? Absolutely nil 😅
Hopefully it’s exactly what @Light_EDDed is looking for :) -

I also have a pair of these Amazon ones, they are great. Served me well on the allotment and during DIY jobs.

My wife swears by the Dubbleware double knee trousers or the Genus garden wear.

Oh the irony. They’re too expensive.
Personally I like carhartts, you get the thinner ones which are like the WIP for summer and heavier ones for winter.
