  • I think, even more importantly, a lot of the ones that have gone over to Reform still love him

  • The chief negotiator was Harriet Matthews, wife of Lord Frost.

  • the unelected Bank of England

I can't wait for the financial elections to begin. I wonder how campaigning will look.

  • Watched the Boris interview. I think his objective, and pretty much his only objective was to plug the book, I suspect, as I haven't read it, it needs all the help it can get!

Anyback to the interview, Boris must of name dropped the title of the book twenty times often several times in an answers. I found his answers were , non answers, not answering and avoiding the questions. Has been said no self reflection or learning from the experience and yeah that's what I got from it.

    Still wants to be PM.

  • As bankers only deal with money, I'm expecting some exciting FinTech innovations, like offering me a fiver for my vote.

  • The Tories latest video about pensioners “having to choose heating or eating” includes a chap wearing a gold Rolex….

  • Doorstep bargaining could be quite profitable.

  • It feels wrong to refer to Truss as former prime minister. Most people have to complete 6 months probation in any employment.

So really she never was prime minister.

  • Yep, can agree with that.
Likewise, tax hesitant Nadim Zahawi, is erroneously referred to as 'ex-Chancellor', despite, afaik, never even making a speech as Chancellor, let alone delivering a Budget, or policy briefing.

  • So it was just the wrong kind of bureaucracy?

  • Any chance Laura Kuenssburg deliberately sent her notes over the effectively cancel the interview?

  • I think there is a v low chance that anything other than the fuckup she described happened.

  • Cleverly races into the lead, Tugenhadt out, Jenrick and Badenoch neck and neck.

  • And tomorrow we say goodbye to one more of them. Then it goes to the membership for the vote on the final two with the result announced on 2nd November.

  • Cleverly might be the least idiotic choice of the three? So he will probably be booted tomorrow.

  • Tugging Tommy's voters are not at the more howling end of the Tory spectrum, so likely most of his votes will go to Cleverly.

  • Unlikely now, his votes are likely tied up plus he’ll get the majority of Tugendhat’s votes.

The only threat to him getting booted out now is wild tactical voting, but Jenrick and Badenoch are fighting for votes from the same pool, I.e. the more right wing Tory MPs.

  • It’ll be Cleverly/Jenrick I reckon, and impotent rage from a thwarted membership because they don’t get their favourite nutter as a choice.

  • ^ this. There seems to be a strong ‘anyone but Kemi’ undercurrent in what’s left of the parliamentary party.

  • With any luck cleverly will be arranging to lend votes to jenrick to bin off bad enough.

    Classic Dom Tory backstabbing.

  • A thing I've never seen reported before was that each candidate has to pay Tory HQ a fee to enter

  • That explains the huge donations they were getting
