Ada will happily roll around in/drink out of muddy puddles, get covered in slobber wrestling huge mastiffs, yet rain or baths are terrifying to her. If she even suspects you might be about to give her a bath she attempts to hide (badly, by going to the bottom of the stairs, where she is still clearly visible).

Don't you need a week after the second jab before going al-fresco?

Oh wow, deserves a frame.

Well she may look cute, but she's got BUMWORMS again and has suddenly decided that she likes eating her own worm-infested shit given half a chance. So that's nice.
Oh and on Saturday - after noticing her itching and whimpering, then spoting a little white protrusion- I pulled a two foot tapeworm out her butt. She's only a foot long in total. I felt properly ill after that. Honestly, so horrific.
She got dosed when we got her but it seems to have worn off. Off to the vets for all of the medicines tomorrow.

Ugh, poor little critter. I hope she heals up quick and gets rid of those parasites.

It is precisely 19°C where this poor waif is sleeping and exactly how I like it in trousers and a t-shirt. He keeps trying to climb inside me for warmth, even with his woolly pully on. He's a limpet.

So pup had second jab, monthly worm treatment and was microchipped this morning. She was fine for a few hours but this afternoon started barking incessantly and following my wife about, but runs away when she tries to pick her up. Microchip making her sore?

^^amazing scenes!

Likely the worm treatment affecting any parasites and there being a chemical reaction upsetting her.

How much is she sleeping? Through a bit of trial and error we discovered our little guy wouldn't take himself to bed when tired and instead would become increasingly erratic, constantly wanting to interact but then being way too hyped up to interact properly. We've been enforcing naps much more strictly so that he’s getting at least 18 hours sleep a day and he's more or less back to his normal self now. I mean, he's still a puppy but he's not a cokefiend puppy monster.

Or she wants to play? Mind you, I don't know much about puppies, but I do know they want to play.

We've discovered streams!
He still walks around puddles but this is progress. He's also doubled in weight between 8 and 16 weeks!
He definitely goes hyper when over tired and gets to the refuses to sleep stage. He will go for my wife at that point too so I have to deal with him.

I'm hoping it's this. And that it'll pass. It's like a switch has flipped. She suddently become hyperactive, anxious, barking, yelping and growling for attention but then running away when approached. She's gone manic and won't settle to sleep in the day. She looks exhausted and just generally seems really agitated and occasionally distressed.
She used to take herself off to chew something or have a nap after a few minutes of being ignored, but as of yesterday afternoon she just yowls and barks and growls and jumps up and down, then scarpers when you try to come near her.
It's a tad trying.

We have to basically put our little guy in a blacked out room to get him to settle (we have improvised something resembling Gaddafi’s travel tent out of rugs and one of those PetsAtHome pens) . He complains for a few minutes but generally settles down eventually.

Licking is calming for them. If you haven't got one it might be worth trying a licky mat + doggy peanut butter or one of those hoofs with stuff inside

Crumpet (aged 4 and a bit), still gets in funny moods when she's overly tired. One of the best things we've trained into her is "bed". Really handy when she's tired and grumpy because she'll usually go to bed and fall asleep but also handy when she's begging or otherwise being naughty/annoying because it's a nice reset.
Good luck with it, I'm sure it's just a phase. Puppies are wild beasts. -

We bought our first house together this year, in Devizes, and moved in 6 months ago.
Gardening thread had some epic updates clearing years of neglect.
The last two months were spent trying and failing to get a dog. A couple organisations turned out to be a little less than confidence-inspiring.
Fast forward some, and a week ago this joker came back in the van with us from Gloucester. Technically on approval but seems like it’s forever already.
No idea the cross inside him, but he’s got all the signs of coursing with little scars everywhere.
Friendly with other dogs, not massively fussed by cats, insane hunter instinct with squirrels.
He was so skinny he’s getting three proper meals a day just to get his bones to go away.
Photos show him sporting the leather jacket I made him, while refusing to move having spotted squirrels. Upholstery-grade genuine leather, cotton lined.
He isn’t keen on the rain but he’ll walk in it.
