One under today but enjoyed the reasoning.

2 under, second guess based on synonym of what I assumed was the hint

I've missed a couple of solves recently as I look in the morning then forget to come back to it. Hopefully will get around to today's at some point.

1 under. Took the hint then kicked myself.

2 under, but more excitingly for me- did yesterday’s Times quick cryptic in 5 minutes- which is a new record for me by a long way.
It is very manageable so posting it here. I still dislike the forced choice of newspaper, but the crosswords are good.

A more pleasingly complex clue today. The word play took a little bit of wrangling.

Parsed one part of the clue, clocked the definition, guessed the answer. Had to go to the youtube explanation for the whole of the clue to make sense.

that was a good one for me. Maybe simple but feels good when you get the wordplay clues and it all falls together
