Carbon bikes and a carradice :)

I missed the weight weenie train a while ago, luckily :)
(weight aside, it's much more easy and practical than any other "bikepacking" solution like frame bags or seat bags, if you're not looking for the aero gainz)

Day 2: Whitby to Lockton.
Short day of ups and downs with beautiful weather. Reminds me why I ride bikes at all.

They look like incredibly fun bikes to be riding.

Great photos, but I wouldn't want to eat my lunch on that bench!

I think they are too. 1989 muddy fox road runner for me (the one with drops). With the exception of the levers being a bit uncomfortable, I don’t think I’d change a thing. That’s not to say it isn’t without it’s idiosyncrasies, but they contribute to the fun more than they hinder it :)

Yeah through Dalby Forest I can do one better! It’s this route with the little loop to Filey south of Scarborough cut off. We started in Lockton so we could have a good day’s ride that finished in Whitby so we could stay at the YHA there, which I can highly recommend.

Did Eyam Pump Track’s fundraiser ride this morning. 25 miles of fog, mud, rain and more mud. Also some pretty top notch free cake. Mostly good fun, although I was questioning my life choices at a couple of points.
Then had to take the eldest kid to roller disco, at which point the life choices questioning intensified considerably.

This weekend I joined lots of splendid people for the Peak Gravel Overnighter by Tor Divide.
Much fun, much push-a-bike (at least for me :P), learn a lot on bike setting/gears etc and made lots of connections.
1st day divine weather, 2nd day pissing all day long.
Looking forward to the next!

Spotted a place on the map called Clowne, so of course I had to do a ride to visit. It did not disappoint. A whole town full of clown. Classic. Couple of vintage komoot bridleways to deal with, and the headwind for the last 15 (and hilliest) miles was ridiculous and draining, but all in all a decent day in the saddle.

Similar to the thrill of seeing a Luton van in, you're never going to believe this! LUTON!
My missus giggled herself stupid at this.

Lol
Get a little diecast model of a luton van, that way next time you see a luton in Luton you can put a luton in a luton in Luton

Not that I'm planning on going back to Luton but if I get the model, I'll complete the mission.

• #12345
Yeah, I was about to edit that post to say 'not that I imagine you're keen to go back to Luton any time this century'

It was rail replacement buses further north so Luton had to be done. Looks like I've got maybe one more visit unless they fix the trains...

On way back from a jaunt up town rode through totally flooded Wandle Meadows just above Colliers Wood. More lake than puddle, water over the hubs. Brilliant.

Good to see you're back at it proper chief!
Elite Deboyo in stainless steel. Really well made and well thought out, but as some other people online noticed, they sometime tend to leak a bit from the bottle/cap interface. I bought the first one a month ago and it's still keeping up fine, but the second one started leaking from the first fill-up.
Also, be aware that these are gonna rattle with metal bottle cages. I'm gonna bodge something to silence them, but keep it in mind before buying.
