I suspect if there’s any validity to the rumour he’ll be flirting with them for leverage in negotiations. He’s way too ambitious to move to a team like that.
Have they got the funds and staff to support his mtb World Cup escapades, etc?

I thought he was going to ditch his MTB program for a year or two, in order to focus solely on the road?
-
• #51604
Oh I hadn’t heard that. You may be right.
Still I wouldn’t go there to focus on a road career! Feels like a late-Sagan era move.
Perhaps he’s that desperate to get out of Ineos and Red Bull aren’t ready?

He said as much after the Olympics, I think.
I think you're right in that this has been selectively leaked by Pidcock's management to force an offer elsewhere. He can't be that desperate, surely?

I am disappointed

Don't worry, he's saving them for us.

the sound of boners popping

Q36.5 seem open to having riders from MTB. Filippo Colombo has raced with them a few times over from Scott-Sram. Maybe Pidcock could get a double contract there?

Pog doing Pog things in Italy. God Lombardy is going to be boring isn't it?
-
• #51612
25 seconds a lap he put into them, just violence

Borefest

I am close to not watching anything he races other than the Tour.

You're witnessing one of the all-time greats of the sport in his prime, dominating races with a sense of joie de vivre that is unique. Appreciate it whilst it lasts.

And his girlfriend for 4th in the women's race which must be the best ever one day result for a couple.
-
• #51617
It was fun the first few times but now it's just very predictable, no amount of va va voom makes it interesting, sorry.
-
• #51618
I cant see them sitting down for cheesy beans on toast !

Voss beat Kopecky in 200m drag sprint to win gravel worlds. The course is very tight and selective.
Should be lots of crashing and nonsense tomorrow in the mens field, which is stacked.

A World Championships where none of the favourites actually take part in the discipline. Won't be seeing the jersey much will we.
-
• #51621
Depends if we watch gravel races a lot.
-
• #51622
Do we ?
I don’t. -
• #51623
I would watch them if they were properly shot and televised.
-
• #51624
Why the extra stripes on his sleeves?

The winner will probably be whichever World Tour pro can be arsed to turn up, won't it? They're quite simply better at racing bicycles over any terrain than the gravel pros.
To be fair to Ciro Scognimiglio, he rarely tweets speculative rumours, and usually waits until a deal is all but done. This could be an exception of course.
