  • I’m constantly reaching to switch on the headtorch that lives on my hard hat at work - even when I’m at home, and not wearing my hard hat.

Hah, I'm so grateful I can the my phone's torch on with a flick of the wrist. Gets so much use 😄

  • I think you might be the target audience for laser eye surgery.
    Not laser eyes mind.

  • Has anyone had the current flu jab? I had it yesterday late morning and it's totally wiped me out. Spent yesterday afternoon failing to not fall asleep. Napped in the evening. Today I'm full of aches and no position is comfortable. Woolly head. And random pains in my ribs. Still not as bad as actual flu, it's just thrown me a bit.

  • Had one 4 hrs ago.
    Doing fine at the mo.
Sore arm from the Covid one I had on Thursday.

  • My nextdoor neighbour had hers two days ago (flu and COVID jabs), just seen her, she's absolutely wiped out too, no appetite, feels like shit, she's off back to bed.

  • Yes, had no reaction. Obviously there is a chance you are actually ill, I was also warned.it takes up to two weeks for full efficacy so chance it could even be flu! Or of course COVID...

  • I was ok for a couple hours, even did some gardening...

  • I'm so grateful I can the my phone's torch

Go and put your specs on before you all over the floor.

  • Multifocal contact lenses are my current experiment

How the fuck is that supposed to work.

  • Like Varifocals, but you put the lens in your eye rather than in a frame in front of your eye.

  • Not with my current employment status.

  • Arthritis in both knees at the age of 47. Think it's down to the 6 aside I played weekly for 12 years on a very hard 3g pitch. It killed my knees towards the end.

  • Cleared 3 blocked drains that have been backed up for an embarrassingly long time with the aid of a karcher and special hose attachment and elbow length rubber gloves. Very messy. Very satisfying.

  • Twinged my back riding off a 2 foot drop

  • I see adverts on insta asking for people between 18/45 for being guinea pigs….

  • Least you got to speak to the GP instead of the receptionist 😬

  • Two days ago I had covid in the right shoulder and flu in the left. I've now got rock hard deltoids when totally at rest and a bit achy.

  • I’m sadly no longer in that bracket.

    The test lenses:

  • I get to see my GP face to face.

  • Like Varifocals, but you put the lens in your eye rather than in a frame in front of your eye.

Don't bi/multifocals work by your eye looking through different parts of the lens though (basically actuated by tilting your head up and down)? How is that supposed to work when the lens is sitting on your eyeball? There's no relative movement!

  • "Multifocal contacts work with the natural function of your pupils. The pupils of your eyes dilate slightly as you look at distant objects, and they constrict when you read or look at something close-up. The visual zones of multifocal contacts allow you to see clearly as they align with these slight changes in pupil diameter, allowing your eyes to naturally focus on things distant or near."

  • woah, that's crazy! I had the same thought/doubt as kimmo. Let us know how you get on with them. Hopeing they're a game changer.

  • Let me know how you get on with them? I was given a trial set but told that they took some getting used to and they wouldn't let me wear them and ride home from the opticians.

  • Er indoors has varifocal contacts. I just have varifocal glasses that are doing my actual head in.
