Curious to hear how you get on with the brake levers as I've been thinking of switching to v brakes and was looking at these levers.

My only gripe with the ENO ECC hub is that you're you have to use thread on freewheel, which I've found to be either poor quality or cost a lot of money.

It's a fair point. It's simply the most visually pleasing.
An advantage of running a regular hub + ss kit + eccentric BB would be that I could throw gears on in like 15 minutes if I wanted to.
I do know though I want to get a way from a chain tensioner for clean looks.

I mean, you could have a spare rear wheel, with gears on, if you wanted to swap for gears, but then you'd have to built an extra set to match.
Please let me know how you get on with the VO EBB - I think I might try it before I have Starfish braze in an eccentric BB shell on my Intec.

Also - though not relevant to this particular build, but EBB means you wont have to re-align your mudguards if you swap gearing/wheels

what if you got a EBB , eccentic hub AND the paul single speed mech

the precision on your chain tension would be unmatched

oldish raceface deus xc cranks have the chiselled cnc look of some of the other bits on the mood board, I think one year they were within a few grams of xtr. the downside is the bolt-up system isn’t as foolproof as shimano’s pinch bolts… i can sell you mine if interested, they are currently wasted sitting on a bike that Id prefer to put cheap deores on.

it's only getting hotter here. weenieism is generally thought as a dentist roadie exercise, but when you're dealing with vintage mtb stuff it's all of the sudden very in tune with the zeitgeist.

admirable determination with the ti fork. kcnc is such a good budget weenie brand too.

i was eyeing the dean colonel currently on ebay, but then found something newer and boring.

Annoyances
The light KCNC headset doesn't transition nicely into the fork.
The SPA ti stem and spacers have different sizes now? Same products ordered a while back match perfectly on my Steamroller.

you should be more worried with how round that top bolt looks imo, profile looks fab.

Oh yeah the screws that come with the spa stems are crap and in my opinion dangerously short. It’s hard to see on the photo but I replaced them on the steamroller immediately.

Might just use the extralite stem anyway.

Looks like the fork was designed for a zs44 lower cup headset, no easy solution if that's the case...

Mechanically there is no issue here. Everything works as expected. It just doesn’t look nice with a „round“ headset. For comparison, I installed the fork on my steamroller with a more square-ish headset.

Yes yes, i was purely talking about the esthetic result! A chonker headset might fit the bill!

Yeah, I need to find a more chunky headset that is light still and doesn't break the bank.
I think Cane Creek 40 would be nice and fitting. I'll keep an eye out for an offer.

Yeah they are great. Similar in feel to Hope. They are light as well

Bit of a late reply but Outstanding flappage and that’s so lucky you managed to use those IKEA sheets!!! If only they hadn’t closed IKEA Coventry down in the pandemic…..

Titanium frames are great and even better in a project like this, good job!
