  • A trip to Kojima is always fun. Or go the whole hog and head to Buaisou in Tokushima.

  • Up to 194 to the £ so worth keeping an eye on it

  • im wearing the Japan Blue Jeans I bought in Tokyo in 2022 right now, done me great.

Going to get a second pair from .. somewhere.. in January in Tokyo.

and thanks @Tenderloin i think ill buy some now and if it gets better buy a bit more

  • Did you have specific seller in mind? I have had a look, but could not really find anything interesting. That does not mean you could not find something special if you dig around a little. There is some cool styles when searching for japanese street wear.

  • Very pleased with these Warehouse 1003XX post hem and chain stitch. Size 38. Measured at 38 but had a good 1.5” of shrinkage in all directions. And then still needed some length chopped off. Also side note but got these Roughout Chromexcel Oak Street Bootmaker Field Boots and am most pleased with them.

  • Got the Lees back from the tailor, they now fit me. His charge was 16 CAD, so all told, these jeans cost me... 16 CAD.

  • Never heard much Warehouse historically or looked into 1964 era jeans. What's made you gravitate towards those replicas?

  • I am and always have been into repros first and foremost and like classic, low contrast fades, which Warehouse are very good at. They're one of the original Osaka 5 so have been at this game for a long time. Very brief history here: https://www.grailed.com/drycleanonly/osaka-5-history

I've only owned Warehouse jeans over the last ten years and don't intend to own jeans made by anyone else anytime soon. Other than maybe Denime - also Osaka 5 - as they are now made by Warehouse anyway. They're also still relatively affordable and realistically are one of a few brands who really are making year based repros.

  • Same denim in both of these. And honestly I should've retired the ones on the left earlier than I did.

  • Are you much taller these days? Looks like your legs are about 30% longer 🤣

  • The lack of turn up deffo adds a foot.

  • Didn't know about the Osaka 5 but will read about it, thanks for the link. So far I've mainly worn US brands like Rogue Territory, 3Sixteen, Tellason and have had my fav pair from PBJ, the fabric was insane.

However, I struggle to find the "perfect cut" as slim fit tend to be too tight in the thighs and straights tend to feel a tad too baggy. I'm a bit of a square build.

What are the ones in the picture you shared?

  • Agree on fabric and fades, but the pockets wears out in no time. Think I had holes in mine after just a few months. Last time I put my warehouse on I found my wallet in my shoe

  • as slim fit tend to be too tight in the thighs and straights tend to feel a tad too baggy.

What about getting some straight cut jeans altered?

  • Guilty. Silicone phone case destroyed the pockets in the ones above.

  • Na still 175cm. Just learnt to dress to my proportions lol and as @inchpincher says - turn ups make legs look much shorter.

  • @M4xime -- Warehouse 1003XX. But Warehouse are notoriously mysterious with their production schedules/availability so they may not be available. It sounds like you would be good with anything modeled after a 1947 501 to be honest. They have a full seat and thigh area, with a veeeeeery slight taper below the knee.

Son of a Stag are the biggest Warehouse stockist in Europe bar none and I would say any of the 1001XX models would work for you based on what you say. 'S' in front of any of the model numbers denotes a slightly slimmer fit, so I'd just go to SOAS if you're in London and try some stuff on - from Warehouse or anyone else tbh. Full Count are more expensive than Warehouse nowadays but make jeans that fit a similar vibe. Not directly based on years but they make great jeans.

And for what its worth: any warehouse jean that says 'Dead Stock Blues' is nowadays just their standard repro line. Anything with 'DD' or 'Duck Digger' in front of the model number is their serious repro line, which are more expensive, but they go all in on details like color matching thread and stuff. And anything that has a model number of '800XX', '900XX', '1000XX' etc is not a repro at all.

The reason I haven't ever owned jeans from brands like Rogue Territory, 3Sixteen, Tellason, PBJ, ONI etc is mostly because of fit. With the exception of 3Sixteen with their CS line, none of them make jeans with as high of a rise as I would like and that's an issue for me.

  • Flat Head 3004 cut might work quite well for you? Nominally a straight cut but has a bit of a taper. I’ve been through a fair few brands in slimmer cuts (Tellason, APC, PBJ, Iron Heart 555’s, RGT etc) and once I got used to slightly looser cuts (straight or relaxed taper) I’ve found I never wear the slimmer ones anymore. Iron Heart’s 634 is probably my favourite pair at the moment.

  • And as I’m thinking about it would anyone be interested in the following at forum friendly prices?

    3sixteen type 3s jacket - size L - barely worn - £80

Tellason Gustave Jeans - size 32 - very well worn. Just found a receipt for a crotch repair by the denim doctor in 2017. White oak cone denim - £20

APC Petit New Standard - size 32 - fairly well worn - £20

  • Bargains there. if the APC were 34 waist I'd definitely have bought.

If the jacket doesn't get bought I might be interested but am only in London very infrequently. Glws.

  • Possible dibs on the jacket please, could you measure the pit to pit? Thanks

  • Thank you but that’ll be a bit snug I’m
afraid, my Levi’s mediums are bigger…
Out of curiosity, I believe 3sixteen are MiUSA but appear to have Japanese sizing?!
    Anyway, GLWS, they look great.

  • Yeah it’s a slim fit for a large. I actually think this ones from after they updated the fit, I have an older double black one that’s snug on me in XL

  • @JB & @LukeG thanks both, will have a look at the different recommendations. Don't those IH 634 feel super heavy to walk around with @LukeG?
