I agree that 7 hours of references to 'crescendo' makes it the directors cut of long boring flat stages.
But no one (no one does, right?) actually watches it from the neutral and the daredevil descending (think Mohoric or Nibali) is worth it alone.

I had covid one year so watched the whole of MSR in bed. So I speak from a place of knowledge when I say it’s better with less build up

you lot need to stop watching road racing and get into track sprint
if all you care about is the actionthat being said it’s even easier to know who’s going to win (lavreysen)

I watched almost the whole thing yesterday. Sad life.

really was a great race

Apparently Evenepoel said to MVDP 'Suicide Move' when Pog went, which I guess explains why neither of those were near him/ attempted to go with him.

Pog's sponsored by Pissei and Ale but he was wearing these Sockeloen socks https://sockeloen.com/products/sockeloen-fastest-sock-on-the-planet-468-aero-socks?variant=44869850792216

Hopefully his kit sponsors don’t get too pissei about it

The whole race is on iplayer. 7 hrs 25 mins. It's fun to watch the riders at the pre race presentation when you know what they're about to witness. Good commentary too, especially Boardman. So much better than Eurosport. I like the Eurosport studio people, but the guy who does most of the live commentary is just fucking unbearable.

Going to have to narrow it down

Hatch or Kirby, pick your poison 🫨

Tour of Luxembourg was a couple of weeks ago. Listening to Hatch butcher local place names was like fingernails on a blackboard.

At least he understands the racing, unlike that twat Kirby.

At least he understands the racing
barely, as his increasingly excited injections, 200k out from the finish, about someone riding off the front of the peloton to pick up a musette would testify.

Amen

I'm not saying he's perfect by any measure, and I agree that his recent work has been diminished by unnecessary hyperbole as moves are made in the race, but he's far superior to Kirby. The later is permanently baffled by what is going on and doubles down on errors all the time rather than recognising he'd misidentified a rider.

That and persevering with some erroneous strategic analysis or observation, all in the pursuit of being able to make one of his repetitive puns such as "and now they are waiting for (David) Gaudu" etc

The Latvian cycling federation wrote to UCI saying "MVDP WTF?"

And the race jury decisons from 29/09 are still not on the Tissot website ("general files" dropdown at this link)
Just because I (can) carry a lot doesn't make my machines cargo bikes. How very dare you.
