Dude, it’s been 23 years but the cadence of this sentence still triggers me.

Any recommendations for where to get reasonably priced photo frames with a plain black frame, for multiple 6x4 prints and 8x10 prints? I initially thought IKEA or Next, but both have failed me so far. IKEA seem to be 7x5 and up. I’m sure Next used to be full of plain photo frames but not this time.

My local framer does their own frames in black, white, wood etc. Fairly priced and glass rather than plastic, could be worth a look?

• #123783
Yup.

Good shout.
@umop3pisdn it’s probably not worth it for bog standard 6x4 frames?

After some replacement batteries for a few See.Sense bike lights
They're 3.7v 1S LiPo 1000mAh, 15 x 18 x 40mm (151840p on the side, which seems to denote the size)
know what I want, can't find anything those dimensions anywhere though
Is there a decent site, or is it just off to AliExpress and hope for the best?

Snappy Snaps usually have a selection and are probably local to you

It’s the grubs that eat the silk/wool.
I used to find moths either flying, on the wall or dead in the roller blind.
They have either laid their eggs or just hatched and aren’t the ones munching your stuff.
Either way you need to find and kill the grubs, they may not be in the same room as the moths, I’m not an expert on the life-cycle and if there are likely only eggs around waiting to hatch and feed or the wigglers are feasting already. -

I want to pop-rivet a wide-based sprung (terry) clip to a mudguard. Would it be possible to put a soft shim (like a bit of inner tube) in between them to account for any difference in the curvature of the two mating surfaces?

A follow up about the broken mudguard eyelet on The Time Machine incase anyone’s been on the edge of their seat.
I removed all the paint from the eyelet and scored up the inner surface with a file and sanded down the fork leg, roughed it up with a file then wiped it down with IPA.
Mixed up the JB Weld and painted it on with one of my daughter’s fine paint brushes. A clean one of course.
I found this all incredibly exciting to be honest.
It’s being held on with a large zip tie for 24 hours then we’ll see how long it lasts.JB Weld says it has a strength of 5000 psi but no idea if that’s shear strength?
If it’s strong enough to withstand knocks from toe overlap then I’ll be happy.

re moths - two of these in every room, open your wardrobe doors, then go out for the afternoon

Don't set them off, leave the house, realised you left your wallet in the bedroom and have to go back in.

That's similar (if not the same) as what I used.
Equally, do not set them off, leave the house, only to realise you haven't de-activated the smoke alarms. -

I broke a key off in a Master disc lock. I’ve drilled it out, for better or worse, now what can I do to get this open? It’s in an Asgard.
Just keep drilling?

I forgot about them! Which is annoying because I’ve moved, but I was actually back in Staines earlier where there is one!

Regarding moths eating woollen items, is it actually moth grubs that do this or is it silverfish? Silverfish are destructive little bastards and really difficult to get rid of. Tips to get rid of them welcome because I’ve got them in my new place and I’d like to deal with them before they destroy my sofa and the rest of the carpet.

At this point, you could try trying to hammer a straight screwdriver in to the lock and see if it will turn or hammer a torx bit in and then see if a 3/8 rachet will get the barrel to turn. Other wise angle grind or saw the lock in half.
It would have been easier to extract the broken key with a lock pick tool.

Tips to get rid of them
I keep a small number in the bathroom to give the spiders something to hunt. I've never seen one anywhere else in the house because I maintain a relative humidity well below the range which silverfish are happy in.
If you want to try chemical warfare, apparently the oil extracted from Japanese cedar will both kill the established population and repel any reinvasion. -

What are the current forum fave drop bar brake leavers?
Will use bar end, so no need for shifting mechanism. But as a follow up question assuming you were also thinking about dropbar shifters for 9 speed shimano, what would those be?
