Works in some people favour.

if anyone buys one and needs to source the solid carbon one piece crank, I have a spare one of those too which I will sell for not loads (<£100?)
Holy moley, that's gotta be a tiny fraction of what you'd generally have to pay... I bet a Zed crank goes for about the price of a carbon frameset.

Hmm... might be interested but need to see if I pull the trigger on it. Need to strip the rim brake bike down and see what is being sold and what carries over onto the new bike.
Edit - zed2? would you post to Europe?
-
• #3405
They would if they'd fit on any bike. I sold mine for £120 I think. Look don't even make a frame that they fit in anymore sadly. Beautiful things

Nice bike. Will definitely consider.
-
• #3407
Pretty sure they're zed2 yeah, will check later. Happy to post if you cover costs, seems a waste they aren't being used tbh!

As an aside, does the 785 Huez (not the current model) do internal routing or still the "semi" internal routing that it looks like on photos? I don't care as the goal is an easier to maintain bike than my Winspace which looks lovely, but any time I think I may have to deal with the wire/hose routing I want to smash it with a lump hammer.

• #3409
The fully internal wiring is only on the latest model, prior to this the have been either fully or semi exposed.

Has anyone rode a 765 optimum plus ?
I've ridden mine for around 2000km and Im having pretty mixed feeling about it...
Not sure how to describe it but I find it lacks rigidity, not super quick to respond. The turning is pretty weird too, you have to really lean to get it to turn. I feel like the front end is lacking precision
.
As for the build, aluminum cockpit and seatpost, carbon wheels, 38c tyres about 3/4 bars for 85kg rider.
It's a size large https://geometrygeeks.bike/bike/look-765-optimum-2022-1/Am I crazy and trying to justify a new bike ?
-
• #3411
Are you coming to it from a proper race bike? The 765 geometry is very much "tourist too fat and rich to carry luggage", it's going to take some adjustment if you're used to race bikes.
-
• #3412
Ah good question, I should have included that. it's actually my first "proper"road bike. My main bike was a Cinelli Tutto plus size M for some time. I rebuilt it with drop bars and a cx carbon fork. I'm also riding MTBs (a staton Sherpa and an XC bike with a pretty aggressive geometry), a cinelli Vigorelli and my cargo.
I laughed out loud at you description of the geometry 😂 it was actually pretty comfy while bikepacking

Let me know; definitely interested.

What's with the inner tube on the fork leg?

• #3415
Isn't that what some riders/teams use to cover the race-tracker-chip-thingee
-
• #3416
Looks like carbon repair tape provided by your cofidis insurance
-
• #3417
All pro teams use inner tube or something similar. Almost all pro race have trackers that your have to put on the fork and sometimes under a chainstay.
And in very rare case it is not on the bike like in Paris Roubaix wt race

Ok think it's zed 1 not zed 2, doesn't say "2" anywhere. Otherwise pics of both look about the same and no idea about what the differences are...

• #3419
I'll give Look a call tomorrow and see what they say. Thanks
-
• #3420
Yeah just let me know. Otherwise I'll get round to eBay one day but there's a massive pile of stuff in that category so who knows when!

• #3421
Beautiful things
The Zed is glorious silliness; reason alone for me to lust after a Look. But wait - the different versions aren't backwards compatible?
That's hilarious.
-
• #3422
No version of Zed fits a 785 it appears. Thanks anyway
-
• #3423
Shame - no worries though!
-
• #3424
No, there are two versions of a 785. One with a compatible bb and one with bb86.5. Annoying I have the latter
