Yep, sorry for not making that clear.
10 speed shifter, cassette and 9 speed mech.
I've ran both 9 and 10 speed chains on this set up and although 9 speed chain works absolutely fine, the 10 speed is just a but smoother / quieter.

One has enough steerer. The other one will struggle with headset an stem :)

Very hard to find a set of the triple butted project 2s with long enough steerer for this frame as It has a 175mm headtube.

Stays on the rear mudguard could do with a trim as well.
Otherwise very solid looking build. -

Where else am I going to keep my journey tofu?

That's a lot of tofu, if it doesn't fit in the basket :D

perfect bike

you can buy longer b-screws on ebay or i have threaded mine backwards so the screw head meets the tab. running admittedly not very nice 9 spd lx mech on 40t largest sprocket perfectly

This set up (40t x 12-42t) works perfectly as the rear mech was meant to clear a 36 I believe when set up with a triple! So a 42 rear is no drama at all.
Very efficient way of getting a nice low range on a 10 speed set up for not much money!

A very unrefined but functioning old school dropper post!

I only had 3.4mm stainless rod, which is fine but I don't think it's rigid enough and offers too much flex. I'm going to order some 4mm rod and hope that it offerrs up better and provides more strength.
The seatpost clamp is also pretty rough, I need a find a better way of cutting strips of sheet metal. An angle grinder is a little too chaotic.
Also pretty happy with the little jig I made to create the spring, didn't get any photos but I will tomorrow.

That looks great, the straight legs really complement the bike. Are those pannier loops?
-
• #622
The little flat bit at the drop out is really nice!
What 's the semi circle mid stay for? -
• #623
The loops are for attaching a bungee cord.
You could probably get a small pannier bag on there but that's not it's intended use.
A wald 137 would be perfect.

Very nice rack. I'm hopefully lined up for the frame I messaged you about, so once I have it will take loads of photos and measurements!

Sounds great!
So it's a 10-speed casette as well?
